Do you have it, the Christmas Spirit that is?

For those of you that love the fuss, here is a job I just finished!  Christmas is such a fun time of year when you are decorating for others!  Actually, I love decorating my home in any season but this year I will vicariously enjoy Christmas decor through the eyes of my clients.  This young couple just recently moved into this lovely home in the greater DFW area. I was honored with the job of decorating their first Christmas in this gorgeous home. The client wanted Christmas colors of gold, silver, and red.  At first, I wondered how we could blend the three colors in a way to enhance each tone and bring out the best in the three designated areas shown below. So what do you think? Do the color tones work? What’s your favorite vignette and why?

My Inspiration, My Mood Board

I’m back and ready to share more about me, my Mood Board … showing colors and styles that inspire or interest me.  Many of you may know what a Mood Board is but apparently I had been clueless. I found my web designer, Golden Fox Design on Etsy.com (one of my favorite sights) who happened to have the Mood Board as part of the many web package options.  Okay, fine, what do I know about a Mood Board yet it comes with the package so I’ll guess I’ll figure it out later.  In order for GFD to get an idea of my style/interests, I was asked to pin to a board on Pinterest (another favorite inspirational/research therapy sight) anything that caught my eye. I couldn’t imagine what GFD could do with the multiple and various pins since my tastes are, needless to say, eclectic. Yet, check it out!

What would your Mood Board look like?

Power of Power Washing!

Hi!  So glad you’re joining me on my first blog. As a home stager, I am always seeking ideas on how to make a client’s home stand out among the many in today’s DFW market.  One of the first viewings of a property is online and each home must shine as did this home when its curb appeal caught the buyer’s eye.

BEFORE – Where trees are near …

So I just had to share an ‘Aha moment’ when one of the most impacting curb appeal tasks made such a major difference to this home’s curb appeal. The home was in relatively good shape including a well manicured landscape. There was only a short list needed to be a stand out in the MLS listings. The short list of “to-do’s” included such items as painting the front door (stain was weather worn), new front door handle, painting the new garage door to match with the other, window/screen washing, etc.  Yet one of the more obvious needs was the need to power wash the driveway and sidewalk. Was it worth it?

AFTER: Night and day difference when drive was power washed!

Absolutely!  Just like in another blog article I found called  “The Pressure’s On”, take a look where you will see additional before/after pics of power washing brick.  This article also guides you on a DIY effort which is great for those that love to do themselves.  This home was done professionally dues to the years of build up. Your home stager can help recommend vendors to take on this job; especially, when you already have enough to do!
